A Reason to Check the Subforums

Hey. Like most forums, the action tends to happen in the general section. How many of you check the subforums? I have to admit that I've only ever checked a few. Some of the manufacturer forums post about new projects and exclusives. So I check WE and Kizer about once a week.

Kizer had been doing their exclusive giveaway events on Instagram. A few of us who don't use Instagram said "hey, do something exclusive here on Blade Forums". Well, companies do contests and giveaways for a reason. It hooks up the lucky winners but it also gets people looking at their products. They hadn't tried it here because the subforums tend to be ghost towns.

So they decided to do a test. Kizer has a test thread going in their subforum. If it gets 2000 views, they'll do their first ever GAW event here. Here's the thread:

Maybe we should be checking the subforums more regularly. I almost missed this!

I don't scan any of the subforums - including this one - unless I'm either bored or looking for something I remember seeing. That said, I participate in multiple subforums because my interests are varied. As dadpool referenced, I generally scan New Posts to find items of interest, and proceed accordingly.
Saw that thread - didn't bother looking because I'm typically not interested in Kizer's offerings (and I see no sense in entering giveaways for knives I don't want)

:) I have 4 or 5 subforums I visit regularly .

Special interests , that's what they are there for !:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Well aren't you all perky and optimistic...I dont like it, makes me not trust you. Post again when when you've stabbed yourself in the finger, lost your favorite knife or your dog has died.

I cruise the subforums quite frequently...lots of good information, photos, friendships.
Subforums are where its at! ;)

If you find yourself in the subforums, you are now officially so far down the rabbit hole you may as well remortgage the house. Haha.

Traditionals, General, and Buck are where I spend most of my time. Although I have visited Mr. Levine's, the Axe, and SAK/multi-tools sub-forums, as well.

I never get bored of knives, but I do get bored of talking about them from time to time. :p
That's normally when I either "sign off" and go find something to do other than sit around!
or, I go to W&C and sit around a while longer, depends on the day....:D

I visit the sword forum, traditionals, & some custom makers & some of the mfgs (but not very often)

I use the New Posts button/link to browse about 95% of the time. I like that this surfaces subforums and threads I wouldn't have found on my own. :)

I have been here a while and am embarrassed to as this question; but where is this New Posts button/link of which you speak?

The Exchange first!!!! Then the makers forums, especially Jk and Fiddleback; then traditional, gallery, custom/handmade, general discussion, and then try some of the reviews or outdoor gear. Then if I get tired of the shenanigans, or bored with the discussions, I check out the manufacturers, and then Levine.
