I have an acquaintance that wants to sell this knife, but obviously, it's in need of a cleanup. Other than the appearance, it has been used but not resharpened. I don't know Emersons well, so I'm not sure how old this one is, so any thoughts on the knife would be appreciated. :)

Looks like it says 99 on it.? -I'd find someone that can bead-blast, and send it to them. Hard to put a price on it as is. I'll say $45 to $55 as an idea personally.

It should clean up nice, I bought one in the same condition and it is great. I paid $50.00 on Ebay last year. Get some Neverdull wadding and the blade will be fine.

Id agree, its not worth a huge amount. 45-50 is probably the most you could expect.
The 99 on the blade is the year it was made.

You could send it to Tom Krein for a regrind and clean up. he does an excellent job for a good price (just ask Lycosa :D) and the knife will probably be worth a bit more after that as well, or atleast make it of more interest to potential buyers

I have 2 of these CQC 7's 99 means it was assembled in 98, that what I was told. R U buying it? If not I am interested my other cqc7's need company.

not correct, the '99 means it was made in '99, why would they mark a knife made in '98 '99 that makes no sense to me lol............

1A---Hey Bud!---Everyone is one the mark with $50. My friend Roger just bought a 7-A for $50. It was is the same condition as the CQC-7 you posted.

It looks the same condition as my Buck Strider 880 before and I used gun oil then scrub it with 1500 grit fine sandpaper using the oil in place of water and it gave me excellent results.

Now you need a Krein Grind but Tom is across the pond. Right Haze?! lol. The Krein Grind on my HD-7, is my sharpest folder.
