I have an idea that could alter the course of general knife discussion history. What if we make a new forum for all the really popular threads, and gnd stays open for threads 2 pages and under. Think about it, gnd could have a lot of room for questions and would be completely based on the day it was published, rather than half of it taken up by the popular threads that have been around for sometimes years, questions may be answered quicker that part I don't know.

Uhhhh...what problem exactly is your idea working to solve?

I started a thread earlier today and it is already on the second page and there are ones from a few months ago in front of it.

Well, that means that other threads were seeing action, and yours wasn't. Nothing personal. It's just the way forums work. For the record, every forum I've ever been on works this way.

Oh dear, no offence but now it sounds very counter revolutionary...
But yeah, the figures never lie.

Post some cat pics next time if you want your thread to get traffic.

Cat pics eh. Camillus, imperial, or Colonial and dun dun a cat :) I will have to try that sometime

It's just too cold up there. It will get better on late August. I do understand; used to live in Michigan.
:)

The thread in question would have been better posted in the traditional section. GKD is for subjects that don't fit in any other subforums. Maybe a mod will move the thread for you if requested.

I started a "general within a general" type thread a while back that hasn't seen very widespread use unfortunately. Mostly just a few forum buddies of mine.

While I'm fine with that, the thread was initially intended to allow everyone to voice their minor topics without having to start a whole new thread that only lasts a page or two. The problem is, most people feel like their topics are a lot more important than they really are, so they start new threads for them anyway;)

I can't exactly go telling them what's important or not, but I CAN inform them that it's there for them to use if they want to:thumbup:

We just had two 70 days in a row here in MA. As of yesterday there is no snow to be found!
It seriously gave me a natural high like no other and the kids went to the play ground to celebrate. Nothing cuter than a 1 1/2 year old exploring the wonders of a masterpiece jungle jim for the first time!

This thread is not revolutionary. But it is nice to talk about the weather.

Man 70 sounds perfect! A bit on the chilly side maybe...
