Yar!! Vacation is here, and so far, so good. We headed out today, for one of my oldest "spots" in the Smokies. I've been going here since I was in diapers, and my parents used to go there when they were in High School. Its got alot of history with me, all my Uncles, my Dad, and Hillbillie Kin.

So, a few years ago, I started taking my daughters. Its been a great place to have fun, relax and enjoy some time away. Cells don't work there, and other than the roaring motorcycles occasionally, it a little slice of heaven. Even dated LadyMoose there a few times.

Anyhoo, its got a long history with me. The pics.

Moose Camp. Not much, but we're just swimmin'

The Spot, as me and LadyMoose come to know it as, now The Girls Call it that as well.

My family has a history of Rock Diving here, about 35yrs ago. The water was higher then, about 2' higher by the pics I've seen of them. Now, the water is about 7' deep, and though some do jump from the upper cliffs, I haven't seen anyone dive.

There are some lower spots to jump off of, though. My oldest, Shy, loves to climb and jump.

Watershots- kinda funny, but I think the waters are a healer. Sounds hokey, but the skin feels so much better, aches go away, cuts heal faster, and the spirit feels cleaner. Take it for what its worth. I just wanted some pics of the water.

Looks like a good trip Moose! I hope it stays unspoiled and undeveloped for your grandchildren.

Very jealous of you right now Bro!! Looks like a great time, glad you are enjoying your time with your girls!!

Looks like a good time brother. I agree with you about the water. Something soothing, and healing about it.

Just curious Moose, what's that on your left leg? It looks shiny like sterling silver, but seems too high to be an ankle bracelet. It's not wide enough black rubber to be the lower strap of a dive knife sheath. Does your state have designer monitoring ankle bracelets? :D

Seriously though, thanks for the pictures. Looks like a great way to have fun on the first day of summer. Sigh......now I have to cut the grass, finish cleaning out the gutters, and turn on the sprinklers.

I think your family has a very fine Spot, indeed. May you continue to enjoy it ... forever.

trying to rust out your beckers for a warranty? :)

I have to agree with you the Smokies are still the only place in the world i would consider moving to.I likes my Bluegrass but them Smokies do call me,and i have to go visit them about twice a year.

Looks like the little Moose-ettes were on vacation but Moose was just bathing his knives.

Good pics. Looks like a superb place to enjoy the outdoors.

Looks like water to me, surface tension and all that...

Looks like a blast Moose! Those are the times that no one can take away! Time spent like that is to be cherished!!

Diggin' the knif pron too!

AusieGav -- You're exactly right. I should have looked at the picture more closely. I can't find an emoticon for big slap to forehead, so I guess I'll use the foot in mouth one. :foot:

Moose -- Thanks again for the lazy first day of summer photos; brings back memories.

Moose buddy, great pics of some fantastic countryside. Nothing else beats being with family in the outdoors, and if water is around, just makes it that much better. That one shot looks like a good area to hunt for some indian relics, especially on the "sand/rock bars" . . .
Thanks for letting us go with you, a happy belated Father's Day to you as well my man . . . .
Hope you enjoyed it.
Be safe.
