I am going to attend some outdoor activities. So I decide to buy a pocket knife, my first one. Ok, Ok, that is an excuse, I love knives and I like those things with cool and powerful feelings. I did some research online about the blade material, handle material, blade lock, etc. Here are the candidates I chosen. Since this is my first knife, I don't have a big budget, about $50.

1. Buck Catapult, Black Thermoplastic Handle, Black Blade, Plain;

2. Buck Knife - SBMF Strider/Buck Military Folder Black Bld OD Green Han;

3. Kershaw Mini Cyclone, Black/white Blade, ComboEdge;

4. SOG Flash II, Zytel Handle, Plain;

5. Gerber AR 3.00 Black, Plain;

6. Buck Catapult, Black Thermoplastic Handle, Black Blade, Plain;

7. Camillus Knife - CUDA Every Day Carry EDC Serrated;

8. Benchmade Mini-Ambush 10210SB;

9. Spyderco Endura 4 C10PSFG ComboEdge

10. Kershaw Junkyard Dog II Plain

which one is the best???

Thanks a lot!

Regards,

Frank

of those I would pick JYD2 or Endura4. They are bigger knives than most of the others, especially the Kershaw, but they are excellent performers & great value for the money. I suggest going to a knife shop and holding both first if possible to see which one you enjoy more, but both will get the job done.

Endura...good knife and is very usefull outdoors.

If you don’t lose it or use it as a prybar you will have a good pocketknife for life

Go for a Spyderco or Kershaw. it seems you've made good choices from those companies. Welcome and good luck!

You asked this same question in the "blade discussion forum"?

It generally works best if you ask a question in one forum at a time.
