A Ruana question

Hope this question has not been asked before. I was given a R.H. Ruanna Bonner. It's 7 1/2" overall with a 4" blade and has a small "dagger" under the name. It's blade is slightly rusted. Can it be repolished without destroying it? I wouldn't try it myself, so I'm looking to find out where to go. Thanks.

I personally wouldn't polish it, the baby bowie stamped(1944- early 60's) knives are the second oldest knives Ruana made, and are worth a decent amount of money.

Oil the blade with mineral oil and let sit, you might be able to wipe the rust away, the oil will stop the rust also. Ruana is still around at www.ruanaknives.com , if you really need the work done,
