From Tom Mayo's website:

LAST UPDATE: Monday, October 07, 2002 02:31

Due to Circumstances Beyond My Control, I am no longer going to take orders. I will have knives on my site from time to time and if you would like a heads up I will start a list for that. Thank you for your overwhelming patronage, I am truly blessed.

No more TNT's??

That Nice, Shiny, New, FIRST TNT I've been saving for? Gone...

AHHHHH.

The sad part is: I've spent the better part of the year scrimping and saving.

Brian

I don't know if I could ever afford one without selling off my best knifes, still this is sad news indeed!:(

Tom has not stopped making knives, it is just that he has fallen way behind in his orders and he has gotten some grief for it. It looks like he has decided to sell knives as he makes them instead of getting caught up in the problems associated with missed delivery dates. If you want one of Tom's knives, get on his list of people to be notified when a knife will be for sale on his site.

Hopefully Tom will continue to attend shows. You can be sure that if he does he will sell out in a hurry.

Yes sad but true, i let that cat out of the bag two weeks ago after i talked with Tom at the BACKA Show (he sold his 10 TNT's before it was open to the pubic at 10:00am) and he told me he was working on something new and he would be cutting back on TNT's from now on. I also saw him talking about not talking any more orders because there is over a year wait as is, and he has too much work on his new project.

Tom said this about his new knife.

"I will be coming out with a new model at the end of the year/beginning of Jan with an S30V blade and disc opener (it will be the second of my BUCK Collaberation knives)"

Thank the gods i ordered a TNT almost a year ago and Tom told me mines on the top of his list now.

Better yet, don't! Then I'll have a better chance to add to my Mayo collection. :p :p :p

Anyone interested in a TNT should pick up the one on E-bay. That is if you are lucky enough to be right handed. Cough up the funds there won't be many chances like this.:D   :p ;)

I don't know - I'm kinda psyched to see the Buck collaboration. Sounds like it'll be the production knife that I've been looking for.

I don't subscribe to the notion of getting on a list and then taking whatever TNT happens to come up. For my money, I'd want a knife to have whatever particular features I like in a knife. For example, a lefty version, for starters.

Guess I'll have to be happy with the hundreds of other hand-made knife makers. It's too bad for me, because I admire the TNT knife.

There are other knifemakers??:p

JUST KIDDING. Don't go flamin' me:D

I too buy other maker's knives. Just no one elses folders:D

That TNT in the above link on ebay went for $801.01!!!!!!

I was on the phone with Tom when the auction closed, Tom said he needs to raise his prices and I owe him more money:D :p :D

Owe him more money is putting it lightly "Head Zealot of the Loyal Brotherhood of Mayonites"! LOL BTW you could always charge to join your club, heck i guess i might own you some pass dues! :p hehe

When i talked to Tom at the BAKCA Show i brought up the fact that his TNT's are sometimes selling for more on the forums then his prices and we all know that's saying something, that's when he told me about cutting back on those TNT's. Now i know why TNT's are selling like hot cakes of late, most Mayonites already knew about the soon be even harder to get TNT's!

And to think I FINALLY acquired that XL I've always wanted on the very day Tom posted this news. Mahalo Brandon. You Da Man!

I feel really lucky to have placed an order just before Tom stopped taking them. For once, I am ahead of the curve. They are great knives and I know mine will be worth the wait.

I have to echo your sentiments Carl. I too placed an order just before Tom stopped taking them. For once I made it under the wire. :D

Regards,
Brian

Yes...I too am happy I got in on a TNT order. I placed my order over a year ago...so I hope you guys are ready to wait a bit.;) I am sure it is going to be worth it. But WOW...the anticipation is killing me.

According to the man himself it should be here in a month or two. At least I know I am ahead of some people (hopefully). :)
