Well......this little peice of steel has been sitting around for about 20 years. It was about a 3"x1/4"x1" scrap. I used to work with a knife maker in high school, I'd help him with the rougher parts of making these sort of things. Anyway.....he retired and i was able to buy some of his tools and stock....most of which is noted.
This one wasn't.....i assumed it was 1084/15n20. Its not.......it's 1084/nickle. It'll still bend after quenching.
I had to sand it just enough to see what it would have been.....dang it.
