I don't know about y'all but I like to see RATs that have been used :D, I just checked my Izula and I noticed the tip was scratched up and there was a little bit of rust forming on the laser engraving. So I decided to take some pics and while the pics were uploading I gave my Izula a little bit of a spa treatment, with a oil rub and some removing of the rust.

Last but not least, the reason I will never whittle late at night again. It is a pretty good love bite that goes over halfway around my knuckle.

You must have beat the piss out of that thing... I cant get the coating on my Izula to stratch, at all. And, I've been using it hard. This thing is -tough-.

There is two deep scratches on the side with the ant that didn't show up in the pics, :D I have EDCed it for a while and as soon as I saw scratches I felt a warm fuzzy feeling inside, I have used it hard but IMO I have never abused it. After I posted the pics I got rid of the rust spots, put some oil on it, and got the blade to almost shaving sharp. I didn't get all the way to shaving sharp but it will still remove leg and arm hair.

Nice pics. Love to see people using their RATS like they should be

Ive worn the coating on my rd6 a bit on the spine, and on the edges mostly from batoning

I thought you said scratched up and rusty?

I really need to order one.

:D I normally keep my knives, especially ones I carry a lot spotless. So those rust spots and the scratching (which I'm kinda of disappointed the two deep ones on the side with the ant didn't show up) on the tip in my book means it is a scratched up and a little rusty Izula.

I know what you ment, just poking fun at you. I say it is a knife that is ment to be used dont worry about it.

You're doing the right things... Keep it up! (Except for the cut knuckle!)

After a 6 hour drive in a hot and humid truck cab, my Izula which was on my belt started to show the preliminary signs of corrosion on the blade and cut outs. a Few minutes wih a Lead Away patch from Kleen Bore and its shiny as new! Then I put a little Mpro7 Gun oil on it to keep it protected.
