Hey guys. Just wondering about something please. When I do a Bladeforums search for "spyderco and clip and drilled and tapped", it seems to me that I should find this thread, because it contains each of these search terms. I'm searching the whole site, and searching the entire thread and not just the title.

But the thread does not show up as a result. I was able to find it through google, though.

Am I not following the proper search protocol, or is the search function just not operating at peak efficiency?

thanks

powernoodle, use yer noodle. :p

I copied "spyderco and clip and drilled and tapped" into the search box and got nothing.
I copied spyderco and clip and drilled and tapped without quotes into the search box and got this thread.
I copied spyderco clip drilled tapped without quotes and without and's into the search box and got this thread.

Ah. I didn't see the link. I just had an eye exam today, and I'm still looking through a bit of fog! :)

Hey, I'm with you. I "lost" a purple Delica 4 last week, and after looking through my collection about 4 times I figured out that one of those Delicas was purple and it wasn't missing after all.

Yes! ... hiding in plain sight ...

On the other hand, my eyes aren't nearly as bad as I thought, don't need any more laser, just need new glasses. They will be ready next week.

I should drop off BF till then *

The search engine appears to default to an OR operator if you put in multiple terms. So, if you enter COLD STEEL, you get all threads with either COLD or STEEL instead of threads with both COLD and STEEL. The search engine does not appear to understand quotes.

The old search engine on the previous forum software operated the same way.
If I know which forum I need to search, or if I remember a person's handle, I can search using the BF search engine. If I need to look for a phrase or need to enter multiple terms to limit a search, I use Google site search.
