A Sebenza For Our Canadian Friends?

Considering Chris and Co's history of making American flag and other patriotic graphics on Sebs, it only makes sense to make at least one for our friends to the North. I'd never given that a whole lot of thought until I saw this old BG-42 large Regular on the Exchange with Maple leaf graphics. Can anyone tell me anything about it? I'm under the impression it's a CGG, but have only seen or heard of one other, a Small? Was this a limited run for True North Knives or another vendor? I do know that this design was also used on the Canadian version of the coin Seb. Please enlighten me here.

Since it's a Canadian design, it only makes sense to post it next to my TNK Flag/spiro damascus. :cool:

It seems to me that one of the gold coin Sebenzas has a maple leaf theme.
 
Those "maple leaves" CCG look more like another type of leaf :rolleyes: more so than maple.

Not that they aren't nice by any means.

What type of leaf can you possibly be referring to?! :D I have not a smoking or rolling idea what it might be :p

Oh, not a problem at all! I'm glad you linked it, because I was trying to find it again and was having trouble.

I'm thinking I'll have to email CRK and ask about this one, there's so little known about it.

I think they look nice and wouldn't mind having one in the collection- after I eventually get an Elk Mountain, CGG just don't get the priority they used to with me; I'm more of a plain Jane and Damascus kind of guy.

Wow, thanks! That answers the CGG/UG question for me right there. A low production CGG. I'll bet that it was a dealer exclusive, even if wasn't for TNK. Does anyone know of any dealers from back then that might have carried an exclusive like this? Probably in Canada?

And idea what that Umfaan sold for? I'd like to have stumbled across that one myself!
 
No answers to the dealer questions but I'm glad that I could help a little bit.

I missed that Umfaan by minutes. I've never had one and would've taken that one for sure.
If I remember correctly it sold for around $700, maybe as low as $675- it was a deal !
Last two I saw before that one were $750 and up.
 
Just a suggestion but maybe it was an exclusive through W and W? Not sure if they've ever had an exclusive or not.
