A Second SG2 JYD II?

I am going to add to my Kershaw collection and I am trying to decide whether or not to pick up a second SG2 JYD. I am thinking of adding my current one to the EDC stable and traditionally I always buy a backup to an EDC knife.

Should I get one now or can it wait a bit?
 
I am going to get a 2nd one and have it re-tapped for tip up carry (my first one is staying minty fresh).

So I would say yes.

Anyone know the production total on the SG2 JYDII? Are they out of production now?
 
What were the production numbers on the SG2 JYD II?

I'd be inclined to grab some of the lower-run knives, like the Damascus Shallot, the 110V Shallot, and the red, blue, and camo Damascus Scallions...or maybe the discontinued Nakamura or Cyclones. Or the Tyrade, before it's gone.

Or....you could buy both!™ (All?)

The original quote called for 1000 pcs,but only 700 were actually released.

I love sg2 it's one of my favorite steels it takes a nasty,and I mean nasty

sharp edge.I just don't know why they don't make more knives in this steel.

I am thinking of buying another one as well.:thumbup:
 
I think Thomas said 1000 where planned, but only 700 produced.
I got my 2, currently EDC one and have one put away.

Great knife.

Okay class, how many SG2 JYD II examples were made?

Was it...

A) 1000
B) 700
C) 400

Eyes on your own paper, do not use anything other than a #2 pencil. Violators will have their Kershaw collection seized and replaced with a set of Frost Cutlery knock-offs.

Hehe...thanks guys! Whether it is 400 or 700, those are low enough numbers to make me want a backup...now.

I think that the SG2 JYD may be my most favorite knife of all. I actually prefer it to my Millies and that is really high praise.

Now I just have to order one and beat the rest of you guys, seeing as how I opened my big mouth. :p
