A Senior Moment Question

On knife with a sunk joint, a section of the tang is hidden when closed. On a knife that does not have a sunk joint, the part of the tang showing when closed is called the "run up"?
Is that correct or am I totally confused about that term? For example a closed Laguiole has a rather pronounced run up.
 
John, in the image I posted above you can see where the "run up" and "back square" would refer to different parts of the tang..
(Then again, I didn't come up with the terms so I won't profess to have all the answers.)
 
Elliott, yours is more accurate I would say and makes more sense. Just going by the GEC web site that I happened to have originally found the reference on. I have no particular background in knife part nomenclature.

Also in the picture you posted if what is called the round end is not round but straight across then the results could be a half stop?
