A little over 5 years ago discussion started on having a set made for me. From a "No Way", to a "Well, Maybe", to a "We'll See", and then an "OK" as the discussions continued. Then the discussions became about 'style' and materials.
Earlier this year I received the final four pieces. There are 24 Finger Groove Hunters, each with a different animal engraved by Bruce Shaw and 1 larger knife. Two have Mammoth Bark Ivory handles (these two are the outer knives in my display where all the knives are displayed along a shelf in the display, point down). The other 21 have Mammoth Ivory handles, as does the 25th knife - the centre piece. This is a larger knife (D calls the blade his "Polar Bear') and fittingly, this knife, being the centre piece, has a Polar Bear engraved by Bruce Shaw.
Neither D nor I envisioned this project taking so long at the outset. And, I seriously doubt either would do something like this again!

Here's my attempt to depict the set:

Then, all the knives were shipped all the way down to Coop (because I just knew he would enjoy the challenge!): :-)
