Not technically an HI blade so I posted it here in the Cantina. Made by Sgt Khadka or one of his brothers. This won't be to everyone's taste, but the workmanship is very good. The horn scabbard is inlaid with large bone dots, small white metal dots and brass flowers. Rivetted to the scabbard are typical Nepali symbols in white metal. Overall length is 14". Brass habaki bolster, not often seen on the Sgt's knives. Birds, fish, flowers engraved on one side of the blade, and a dragon on the other. Not a user, but I'll bet that the blade is functional. It's sure sharp!

Enjoy something different.

This is one I wouldn't use. They look great.

Most an art piece than a tool/weapon.

Wow! I agree...I am certain it's properly made.

Sgt envy just hit...

Beautiful Khukuri and picture, thank you Steve

That is an awesome knife and scabbard. I love the detail. Thanks for sharing the pic.

Imagine the time that went into that gem... by a real artist.

Many thanks for the look, Steve.

Wow, a lot of really precise and beautiful work went into the sheath and handle! It's a very beautiful khukuri, and Sgt. Khadka's reputation is even more impressive if he made it himself. If one of his brothers made it, then hopefully he'll be making more for H.I. :)

Nice acquisition, Steve!

Beautiful! I tried to get a scabbard once like this on a Royal dhankuta from Uncle Bill, but he was out so sent me a silver one (the kind that comes with the Royal Kothimora knife.) Never got one. The handle work on this though is above and beyond anything I have seen before.

Great pics as always, thanks.
