I got to finish it up, add a color, drill all the holes to stitch it all up:D
First ever sheath. Is a fun little project.

I was going to go to my dad's to trim up the edges, but I don't know what he did with his band saw. So I used my table saw like a disk sander to clean up the edge then I used sidewalk like a big sanding block followed by 80 grit then 120 :)
Suprised I didn't get a single cut.

Thanks guys. I made a few mistakes here and there. If I make another I'm going to do a few changes to it like the part that folds over for the ring because there is a seam that probably will split where it butts up to another part of the sheath.

That was your FIRST sheath attempt? Dude you should absolutely stick with doing leather work. Nice job!

I plan on making more. I got all these crazy ideas I want to do, but I need more Busse knives!!!!
I got to work on my sewing skills. I drilled the holes from the back side because I wanted to make sure the holes were centered on the back piece so the front side didn't turn out so well. My groover kept clogging up so I said F-it and I cut a groove with an x acto knife....

My next sheath will be better. I got to finish this one a little better and add some sort of leather care product to it. I have some saddle soap somewhere. ..

You can polish your edges with a piece of old denim, lick the edge and then rub hard with the denim I know it sounds stupid but works really well. Other than that for a nice color rub neats foot oil on it and set it in the sun to dry, it will darken to a nice chestnut.

Edited to add: If you have a belt sander, use a worn out belt and clean up your edges gets them nice and smooth before polishing.
Good job.

Finally got around to apply a finish. I used saddle soap and buffed it for like a couple hours. It darkened up the leather and polished the rough edges out.
