Finally! Got to do some sheaths. Been pumping out holsters and gun belts for weeks and finally got some knives to work on.
Hope you enjoy looking at them as much as I enjoyed making them.
Numero Uno
I not only got to do the Mexican Loop sheath for this six inch customer supplied Bowie blade, but I also got to do the grip of red deer antler, and the ball end guard, which I handcarved with files and a hacksaw from a 1" x 1" x 3" hunk of brass - the whole thing then got well aged. Hadn't made one of these sheaths in a while so it was fun re-exploring the type.
Numero Dos
This is a collaboration piece with compadre Ken Beatty of Waco, TX. It's a variation on the brass tack style made from vegtan and buffalo rawhide, with tin cones and copper, glass, & bone beads. Thanks Ken!
And last but not least Numero Tres
This one was built for a Jim Largent Damascus bladed knife that unfortunately had to go to the engraver before I had a chance to finish the deco in order to go with it's owner to End of Trail.
So I stuck one of my shop knives that just happened to fit (darn
) in order to take a picture.
The beadwork on the brain tan cuff is by my wife Linda and the rest is buffalo rawhide, brain tan fringe (the owner LOVES fringe so I double layered at the top) and all the gee gaws.
Anyway let me know what ya'll think!
