A Short Video About How I See Pocketknife Handles

How you liking the 0609? The thinner blade stock has been tempting me a little bit.

Your voice is soothing. I caught this right before I’m about to go to bed and you could probably put me straight to sleep if you read me a bed time story (in a good way.) Nice video.

I am loving everything about the 0609!

I agree that the XM, particularly in 3.5", is very nice in the hand, in multiple grip positions. Much like the Emerson Commander series, the XM is hand-friendly in all it's sizes too.

Yes.
The knife buying public seems to be interested in handles that are not much longer than the blade. Now I just bought a knife known for it's minimalist handle both length and otherwise. The Boker Urban Trapper in drilled Ti. And it has enough handle length; no complaints. But on some of the knives with shorter blades; from a user stand point, a longer handle is something I value.
The Little Dragon is just magic and in a world of it's own.
Anthony, thanks for the vid

I kind of prefer a longer handle than the blade when I can get it, and the more neutrally shaped the better.

I think the worst handles are those designed to fit the hand very well, because everyone's hands are different and mine usually dislike such handles.

Thanks, I enjoy Nick Shabazz videos, but I cannot understand his obsession with a handle as close as possible in length to the blade. Like you said, this OK with longer knives, but on knives with shorter blades, a longer handle means that the knife can be used more effectively, especially by people with larger hands.

Good video!!!

You are right on about the Spyderco DF, it is very ergonomic and fills the hand nice.
Normally I carry larger sized folders but just this weekend I got a Spyderco Urban K390 and for a small knife it feels great.

The Steel Will looks like an interesting knife.
That is the first I’ve heard of that model.

The Steel Will Intrigue just came out this Spring.
