Today I drove up to a place called the Macedon Ranges, about an hours drive outside of Melbourne. It's a pretty little place with some astoundingly beautiful estates with private gardens. But I wasn't there for the million dollar properties. I went for a bush walk into the forrest and decided that the trail was too muddy from all the human traffic so I took a sharp right and went straight off the track into the bush.

I ended up walking about 500m down the hill through the scrub and found a fallen tree. The place was still very damp from the 3 inches of rain we've had this weekend. But today I had great weather with the sun emerging from the clouds every now and then to throw dappled lighting through the forrest canopy. I took the camera this time so I saved a couple of more beautiful moments.

It was lovely and peaceful to be surrounded by trees for a few hours.
