I just got a bk7, picked it up from the bay. It feels great in the hand and is begging to get used. Here's the thing, it's an untouched pristine camillus. Do I really want to make a user of this or keep it pristine? I normally hate owning something that I won't use but I'm kinda stressing on this. What say you?
 
In reality the camillus stuff, while Still more rare than Kabar, isn't really that much of a collector unless you have a model not currently in production, like the bk10, bk9 (wider stock), the desert series etc. Use it man. Now the blackjack effingham stuff is good collecting.

Use it. Give it some outdoor time every day. Feed it regularly.

If you don't, it may turn on you. :eek: Bored Becker knives: they're a terrible thing to behold.

My BK-7 (my first Becker) is a Camillus, and she is a user. I dont see a real "collector" nitch for BK's as of yet.......well, other than a few of us. I would consider it safe to say that even though some of us collect (stockpile, horde, or otherwise squirrel away) knives, most of us use them all in some sort of religious rotation. You wont hurt it,, and any wear and tear will add to the knifes personallity. Enjoy your 7.
 
Okay, okay, I got it now. Jeez, you guys are a grouchy bunch. :D I didn't think to check the stickies and spec threads. 0.188" or 3/16" for Kabar, compared to 0.21 or 0.22, just under 1/4", for Camillus. Anyway, I have the -9 (and all the Becker models) on my list, but with life going the way it does most of the time, I just have to make do with my Camillus BK-7 & my other Beckers for right now.

My son (just turned 12) owns a Becker, and he's a "pre-Beckerhead" - can't wait to get his BH #. So, since I've obviously been such a loving, positive & helpful influence in his life, can I be excused from the Bladite "smite-ing & ban-hammer" list just this once?
