Who wins this duel? We have two hard-hitting hard-use contenders!

The 0562 is the tried and true heavy hitter from ZT. If you’ve heard of folding knives, you’ve probably seen a 562. CF? G10? Titanium? A little something for everyone. Nice and slicey, ready for hard work.

The contender: The newcomer.. Benchmade Mini Adamas! They took a tank and made it small enough to fit in most pockets. Robust, coming in two primary configurations with an attractive little release in red micarta recently.

So if you had to pick one.. which one do you take?

Let the games begin!

I've owned a couple of 0562 CFs it's a great knife, feels great in the hand, one of my favorites but it's larger than I like to carry so every time I've purchased one I've ended up selling it. Just got an Adamas in the mail today, fit and finish is good and feels well built I'll refer to it as a bulky smaller knife than the 0562, feels like a hard user but I'm not sure if it's a keeper or not. I'd probably compare the Freek to the 0562, closer in size and I have gravitated away from flippers because I like to have the option to slow roll a knife open when I want.

The Mini kicks the crap out of the 0562, IMHO. Yes, the 0562 is a fine knife for sure. Nothing wrong with it, but the fit, finish, steel, and over all build of thr Mini is what I would go with.

I generally do not like knives under 3.75" in terms of blade length. I bought the Mini to comply with blade restriction on a trip. The Mini is such a good EDC for me as a guy who wants a hard use/robust knife, that I have rarely carried anything else.

For the first time in years, I went on vacation with nothing but a folder and felt totally prepared. The Mini, for my needs, is that good.

Sophie's Choice...went with the Adamas for the same reasons

I like both knives, but for slightly different reasons.

The 562cf is very clean looking… a “gentlemen’s hard use knife”. I would use the 562 if my tasks were more slicing oriented and I preferred slimmer overbuilt knives.

The mini adamas would be my choice as a knife to use if there was a chance a lot of prying might be involved and I had to use a knife for the prying. Also, the coating would make me feel better about using it in and around materials that might scratch up the blade. On a satin blade, scratches look terrible. On a blade with a coating, it adds character and looks sort of appealing.

The edge for me goes to the 562cf. The 562ti feels a little sticky in the hand, maybe due to the smooth titanium finish. The carbon fiber version just feels better.

I’ve owned a few ZTs, and they were certainly built to withstand hard use, but my mini adamas locks up, feels and works like a small tank. It feels more secure to me than the large, I guess because the shorter length means less leverage.
I agree with steely above, it comes close enough to a small sized fixed blade that I carry it when I want to limit my carry but know I’m prepared for unexpected uses

ZT.

Never handled the 0562 but love my 0560 which shares the same wrap-around style guard (my favorite feature of this knife).
