Here's a basic clip point Bowie of triple edge quenched 1084 with some nice Zericote scales. Blade is 6 5/8" long. Normalized three times, triple edge quenched and triple tempered. Blade has been given a convex edge just for fun.:)

Thanks for looking.

All the best,
Mike U.

Nice work! 1084 is my fav' steel so far. You don't need to quench it several times BTW.

I know. I'm just experimenting to see what I can get out of the steel. Always looking to get that extra little oompf! out of a stock removal blade.
1084 is a favorite of mine too. I love the way you can get a quality working blade out of it with little or no HT headaches.
Thanks for looking and the constructive comments.:D

I really like the profile on that blade. It makes for a very nice guardless bowie. The picture doesn't show the blade very well. The lighting isn't great.

Keith,
I'll try to get some better shots but it'll be a few days before I can do it. The better half left town on hiatus till Tuesday and took the digicam with her.:grumpy: That kinda screws up my plans. I have three prototypes I just finished up and wanted to post a pic of the variations to get opinions on which one ya'll might like best.:(

All the best,
Mike U.
