Dear Mr. Benyamin, I honestly did not mean ANY disrespect with my comment of "Mr. Bagel"...As a fellow Hebrew, noticing your name, and Avatar, though of you as a proud, well spoken, accepting, New York Jew(the most outgoing kind=)) Having much family on the east coast, I speak from experience. I am very sorry for treating you as a "close friend", one of which I could throw stereotypical/racial? slurs at like I would a brother/cousin. Although you weren't the one who gave me my infraction, I am dearly sorry for any offense I have brought you, and I realize that these forums are not for that kind of fraternization... Once again I am truly, deeply, sorry for the hardships that I have brought upon these forums.
Please accept this apology.

Accepted. You have to realize, though, what it sounds like coming from someone we don't know.

That's exactly it. With all the genuine haters that we come upon from time to time, it's virtually impossible, in the absence of long association and personal knowledge, to know when a person is making a friendly poke or a venomous insult. We take racial and ethnic animus seriously here and take immediate steps to curb its outbreak. For this reason alone, racial and ethnic jokes (even between friends) are ill suited for the discussion forums.

I truly appreciate BODC's stepping up and clearing the air on this matter. We'd much rather have him as a friend than someone we have to keep on the forum radar.

One of the most genuine sorry's I have encountered from travels in BFC.

Please understand that even when things are posted that were posted there are those who might read that thinking the door is open for them to espouse ignorant hate. It is hard if not impossible in may cases for us as mods or anyone else to know the difference.

BODC,

Thanks, What Blues said is 100% true.
(Now I am not going to post what I posted in the mod forum after I read the remark.) :D

 to BODC for the sincere apology and to the mods for their handling of the situation. Well played by all.

Good apology, fair reversal. But I also want to add that the username in question probably did not inspire a lot of confidence when the original infraction was issued.
Maybe there's a (pop) cultural reference I'm missing, but we get a lot of teenage trolls here, and their usernames are often similarly grim or outlandish.
