...to Jerry and all the folks at Busse who made the CABS happen. Many folks wanted this knife for a while, and Jerry listened and made it a reality.

Like I said in another post, Busse knocked this one out of the park. From the dimensions to the smoothed edges to all the other little details that contribute to a truly ergonomic knife, the CABS sits in the hand like I'd hoped it would. The Anorexic thickness will make this one a true slicer, and the edges on my CABS beat any I've seen out of Wauseon.

This model feels like the best Busse utility blade I've held, and I've held quite a lot of them. Based on initial impressions, the CABS easily rivals any bushcraft/outdoors blade on the market.

Tomorrow, #5 is going for a hike and will be used like it should. #6 is going back for my son. Thanks again, Jerry Busse and Busse Combat Knife Company.

i agree,,,just got my cabs and cant believe how nice it is!! i think it is the best busse yet and soon to be a all time classic:thumbup:thank you jerry and all the crew!!
i think in going to get another;)

I don't like to "+1", but. . .

+1!!!

I thought it was going to be a full flat grind to a v-edge (which I was worried might be its Achilles heel), but the flat grind to blended convex is the best slicing geometry there is, IMO. The scales are a perfect fit to my hand.

I can tell this is going to be, hands down, my favorite "bushcraft" knife.

Now I just need to get a sheath and a second knife. . .:D

Crap :grumpy: :grumpy:

Now I need to order one:eek:

.

You won't be sorry. I know your tastes used to run toward the Lean Mean for a backpacking blade. Think of all the little things you'd like to tweak on the Lean Mean and this blade is what you've got. It's sort of like a Lean Mean on EPO.

Mine will be hitting the woods today in a spare JRE sheath I had stashed back. Soon though, Dwayne will be making me a nice, matching black leather sheath.

I'll also be taking along my new little titanium flask with some 107 proof.

I too have held a boat load of different Busses in this size category and have to say that this blade is the nicest of all of them in term of in-hand feel and slicing ability. I was going to throw some desert ironwood handles on mine, but honestly, I'm not sure I even have the incentive to do that anymore. This knife leaves nothing to be desired.

Here are some pics from that hike this weekend.

Of all the places the CABS begged to be photographed, this one had the strongest tug. Must the the Scotch in the INFI.

And of course, no trip would be complete without passing a video store where you can pick up a stun gun for $34.99.

I asked for a cabs for Christmas from my gf! She gasped at the price, but will prob buy it for me.... If only she knew what I had spent on my sfno collection!:D

I'm thinking I may have to have one more before they're gone.

Awesome thread and some incredible pics.

lmao! THe only problem I see is that flask looks like it will only hold enough for first aid. THere might be enough in there to wash off a flesh wound;)

But what are you carrying to drink?:D

If you'd seen some of the sheer drops we hiked up next to with 35-40 pounds on our backs, you wouldn't wish more whiskey on me. :D It was rainy and slick to boot.

That flask is good for a nice shot right before bedtime. Or a dram for a day hike. When I see a good deal on one of the larger Snow Peak Ti flasks, I'm going to pick one of those up.

Now I ask you... should I be three sheets to the wind right here? :p

As usual your wisdom shines through:thumbup:

Probably a good call. ;)

I do have to find those Ti-flask. THey are really nice, and shouldnt get nasty like some of my stainless has done in past. Can you store the alcohol in them, or do they need to be washed out after each use?

and,

THANK YOU Jerry and crew for the CABS:thumbup:

Because of your post and your opinion (one of a few I respect) I did actually order my first Busse since the SFNO LEs.

Lets hope it doesn't break the camel's back.
