I'm glad to see the site but if the term "stamped knives" includes those made by a quality stock removal process, I can't say I agree with a lot in the "Stamped Knives vs. Forged Knives" article. I have quite a few forged knives with good qualities but I don't concur with the author's criticism of quality knives made by stock removal---assuming that's encompassed within the "stamped knives" terminology.

If "stamped knives" is intended to refer only to junk like we see from Pakistan, I withdraw my objection.;)

The "stamped knives" is referring to blades that are blanked out in a production process of mass produced knives.

I can accept that interpretation, but then I would suggest that the article needs some editing work. It gives me the impression that there are only two kinds of knives: Forged and POS. If "stamped knives" refers only to mass produced junk, then the author has ignored the largest segment of the knife market in his comparison. What's the point of comparing a hand-forged, custom knife to POS, mass produced junk? That's a "no brainer". It seems to me that a more useful article would discuss the relative merits (and disadvantages) of forged, stamped, AND stock removal knives.

I intend all these comments to be helpful, not argumentative. I don't mean to offend our new member but in addition to editing, I think the article would also benefit from a little more proofreading.

Despite my constructive criticism of this one article, I like the site and will visit it again. If I didn't like it, I wouldn't be spending time making what I hope are useful suggestions.

Thanks for the reference,

That's an interesting viewpoint and you made me laugh. If you have an alternative view you prefer that is written down I would consider posting that on the site. I have a tab/link at the top of the page as well thats lets people submit their own articles for review.

edit - ...Or feel free to comment underneath the article where it says "Leave a reply" I always appreciate a good debate.
