I get my monthly catalog from brigade quartermaster. On page 64 there is the ontario spec plus TASKFORCE sp19, for only $39.95.

what a deal! 7 3/8ths blade, carbon steel 1095, full tang kraton handle.

this knife is a total sleeper. I normally love machetes only but sometimes you need a smaller blade for compactness.

I have not heard a peep about this one.

anyone else know some sleepers out there.

Sleeper knife? How about a tin can lid sharpened or a piece of glass? How about a pressure flaked stone or a piece of broken bone? I guess what I am saying is anything you have on you or you can expediently make is a survival knife. The best survival knife is the one you have on you or the one you can make if you don't have one present. The ontarios are pretty nice. Good value and nice selection of blade designs. I like the spec plus machete. Nothing like a big honkin' knife.

I've owned one for a few months now and it performs and keeps on going. This knife is truly a great buy as with just about all of the Spec Plus line. They are all easily sharpened and hold a good edge. I wouldn't hesitate to buy one that's for sure.

The Mad Dog seems a bit more rounded than the Spec Plus ie the clip is a little deeper on the Task Force. The blade on the Task Force is really thick compared to the other blades in their line, with the exception of the Survival Machete. Like I said before this thing just keeps on going, it's tough! The only complaint I have with any of the Spec Plus line is that the handles are a little bulky. That is easily changed though with some sand paper and determination.
