I have had this BK14 sitting around for a few years now.
It was my first Becker and I have been wanting to do something with it. It was sitting around because I over sharpened it and made the blade much smaller.Over about 6 months, summer 2012 I think it was, I made the bad decision to keep sharpening my BK14 EDC on a belt sander a few times a month. I didn't realize how small I had gradually made the blade until I won a new BK14 from Moose and saw them together.
I learned my lesson and have hand sharpened everything since.
But I have been thinking about doing something with this 14.
So I ended up with this smaller version. It feels candiru sized to me but maybe a little bigger. Just a little bigger than a BK13 but extra beefy. I almost tried a pointy clip point but decided to stay with what looks to me like a mini BK14.
I was working on re shaping the blade the day I dumped my dirt bike and broke my hand pretty bad. So after 8 weeks in a splint finishing this project has been a bit of physical therapy for me.
I finished shortening the handle and fitting a set of orange grips to it I had laying around. I made my first sheath since my accident and it turned out to to be an interesting little blade. It will spend most its time as a neck knife but the sheath can also be worn on a belt.
