I have been fortunate enough to get to know Stan over the last few months and been able to learn a lot from him about life, music, voting conservative, whiskey, and a little bit about making knives.
Stan offered to help me a while back and I have been darkening his door ever since. I am not a knife maker - hell - I am not even a leather maker by trade - but I noticed his ratty belt and talked to him about making something simple - in trade for all of the abrasives I was wasting on making metal into knife like objects before I bent them in heat treat.
I spotted a belt buckle at a local antique shop in Texas and picked it up for him. I slapped it on some of my leather and figured I would post it here. It also gives me an excuse to thank him publicly and tell you what a great guy he is (as if you all didn't know by now).
Anyway - I hope he likes it - and if he doesn't - well - he will have one hell of a good looking strop for his slippies if he adds a little compound to the back of it.
By the way - Yes the buckle is made from actual spent rounds.
