My son has been after me for years to make him a large bowie and as much as I dislike large knives I think this one turned out OK. This is his 42nd birthday present; just a little late. I forged this from 1/4 X 1 1/2 inch 5160 and added a rosewood handle. The fixtures are made from an old wagon wheel etched and a little gun blue to give it an antique look.
The trouble is, I have three sons.

You may not like them, but I can see why he wanted you to make him one. That knife is the real thing.

Let us know what the other two come out like. :D

That's really nice. FYI, my birthday is Feb 7th...plenty of time for you to get things together. ;)

Very nice your son is very lucky and i'm sure it was worth the wait to him. I can't wait to see the other two knives though. :D

An heirloom for sure. Better make two more and number them for the boys. Collector for sure. Nice work.

how could he not love that! two more to go... and the sheath is great as well

Even though you don't like big knives, it doesn't show your distaste in the final product - good job "Dad"

I know you americans only like adopting kids from africa, but can you please make this aussie boy your son by any chance?

whats not to like -its superb. please post the others when ready.
cheers
