A souvenir from Asia (probably). Need help.

Hello there. This question is probably off topic as this is not a real blade. I found this blade in my deceased great-grandmother's possession. I suspect it is from Japan or Hong Kong, as her deceased son used to visit there often. From what I understand, it's made of walrus tusk or something like that. I'd like to ask you guys for help in telling me what it is.

It is not from Japan. The scabard carving depicts a Chinese scene and costumes.
The meander pattern is also distinctly Chinese.
Looks like a letter opener.

It's a crysknife your great grandmother's son isn't deceased he has become the Muad'Dib.

Sorry dude, I have no idea what the knife is, I see a knife like that I'm instantly reminded of Dune.
