Just got a couple back from the spa. Took quite a while this time, but I’m pleased. They are both users so definitely not perfect looking through a collectors eye, but great vintage examples and they cleaned up very well. They are on my top users list (my thinned down 112 is still the grand slam user to me) and are solid knives. Great job Buck, as always

Figured I’d add a poll, just for fun :)

Feel free to discuss your choice and why you made it

I’d say I carry depending on situation. A lot of times the 110 is too much for people to visually process in the city. I prefer being out on the farm anyway ;)

Every time I send one in, I’m always impressed when I get it back. I enjoy encouraging people to try it, most have no idea the magic Buck can pull out of their spa robes (hat) :D:D:thumbsup:

110 for me daily for the last 35 years.

IMHO The only reason to carry a 112 is if there is a blade length limit. I have a couple 112’s but have never carried either.

I carry a 112 everyday, at work. I can honestly say that I’ve never been in the middle of using it, and wished that I had my 110 instead. For me the 112 is usually more than enough knife. With that being said, the iconic 110 will always have a place in my collection.

I switch between the two. It depends on what I’m doing and where. But more often I have a 110 close by in my pickup at work or personal time. Having extras around don’t hurt a bit and can be a life saver. I have only one 112 custom but I just received 2 slim select for my two oldest grandkids. A blue one for my grandsons 17th birthday and a red one for my 18 yo granddaughters graduation. Both factory engraved. I’m thinking about getting one for myself

I have always felt a 112 Ecolite or one of the new Slims is about perfect for every day use. I enjoy other Bucks even a Strider but a 112 gets me thru every day.

I’ve got one that was supposed to get the spa treatment today. I was quite surprised to learn it was going to be 8 weeks after it got there. It’s ok, it’s not like I have to borrow a knife to carry.
112 slim pro has been my edc this last month or so. Pretty happy with it. I did get out my 5160 drop point last night but left it in favor of the pro. Always a 112 for me.

Ive been totin the 486 now for a couple years and every once in a while i will grab the 482 and it just dont feel right. Its nearly the same bulk but a stumpy blade.
I do wish the 110 had the front bolster of the 112.

I've only had a 110 (or Old Timer 7OT) on my belt every day for about 50 years.

I got my first (and so far only) 112 last year.
I carried it for a couple months, but went back to the 110, for the most part. It just feels "better" in my hand.

Of course I still keep a Buck 301 in my pocket.
Truth to tell, the 301 is used more often than the 110. However, I feel naked without the 110.

My will specifies that a 110 will be on my belt and a 301 will be in my pants pocket when I get planted. I'm taking them with me. :)
(this also insures that I'll have pants on when I'm buried.)

Used to be 112 because of weight. Then I got hooked on the 112 Eco Lite and tried to find a 110 Eco Lite to no avail. Then the 110 LT arrived and that was my regular Buck carry. But i wanted a metal frame liner at least, like the Eco Lite. So I am now light with full metal aluminum frame:

I probably had a 110 when I was younger; but the largest Buck I have now is a 112. I'm sorting out carry options... and may pick up a 110 if I find a spot that is both convenient & not in the way of my fixed blade.

Not arguing with your logic, but my thoughts were morealing these lines. “I never found myself wishing the 110 was smaller.”

For the most part they will do the same jobs but it is easier to keep stuff out of the pivot with a longer blade. If I’m using the 110 to clean a fish or for food prep.

I do wish the 110 had the front bolster of the 112.

I often thought the same thing. I did modify one with a single finger groove. I pushed it farther forward than the factory finger groove. I like it a lot. It acts as a guard of sorts and moves my grip forward just enough.

Im sure thats functional but i have yet to see one that looks good.

I was late to the Folding Hunter game. I did not get my first one until I was almost 50 years old. I bought a 110 and a 112 at the same time. Then I ordered a 110 with Rams Horn from the Custom Shop for my 50th birthday. I carried it on my belt for several months and then just kind of "didn't". Turns out, I really did not need that much knife in my daily activities. I think I prefer the 112 as it seems to meld to my hand. I'm thinking another Custom Shop order. Just for kicks. I really don't need that much knife at work or out in the boat. I keep it in the center console of the truck. But being a Buck Knives aficionado ya' just gotta have one!

I don't know how many of you have an aluminum handled 110 but I ordered 2 and the first time I closed it a circular shaving came out of the bolster. I should have known better. I am back to 110's with brass or Nic silver. What were they thinking. I know make it lighter; but how heavy is the 110 really?

carry one often. no issues. have one on me today. no circular shavings. nice and tight. good full size lightweight folder....15555147647236030472956726399038.jpg

I like both, but carry the 112 more often because the 110 is often much bigger than I need.
