A Special 51ot

:p:Dhey fellows, got this today! ive never seen one of these before---a pre-production sample #0031. read the certificate--amazing. this is the knife just as i pulled it out of the box. been in my golfing buddy's closet with a complete '82 mib/with white sleeves scrimshaw set---all with same serial#0625 and ixl master set in wood crate style with matching serial #m1497. boy i hit the jackpot----looks like i just bought my own xmas present for the 2 years!:eek:this is the first time ive posted pictures--took me forever to figure it out:confused: will try to post pics of other ones later--seeya,brady

That's a darlin' delrin alright. Aint those 51's just made fer the hand? I have one that just says SCHRADE on the tang-- no model #. Did you see the 504 on fleabay a few days back? That's the one in ivory or yellow and stainless. I almost took it but I changed my mind. I just don't like that stainless much. It doesn't develop any character over time.
 
That is a neat one! A great "from the closet" discovery, for sure. I've not seen one of those before. Which isn't too surprising since there were only 1,000 or so made. Note that the sheet states that this knife is one of the thousand hand made "reproduction pre-production samples" made for collectors, not a preproduction sample.

The other two finds are great as well. All I ever find in closets are dirty socks that missed the laundry and outgrown shirts and pants. :)
