Recently, we updated our tried and true Brend Hatchet, for which the CAD can be seen below...

...what we didn't tell you is that a VERY special run is being planned right now. A limited number of Brend Hatchets will be fashioned from Ontario Knife Company's new "Diamond Steel™", which is a proprietary material used in the new Marine Corps and Special Operations Bayonets for 2003! These new OKC Bayonets are TOTALLY to die for in terms of function, appearance, quality, and construction...they're also LITERALLY to die for if you're the enemy! ;)

OKC's new Diamond Steel™ provides maximum resistance to breakage and high wear resistance. The impact toughness of this proprietary steel exceeds that of A2, D2 and M4 in all of their official test results.

We are VERY impresseed with the performance of the material, and thank Ontario Knife Company for sharing it with American Tomahawk Company.

The Brend Hatchet will be CONSIDERABLY improved in terms of its performance, with only a nominal increase in price for this special run.

Among a variety of sources of inspiration, I must admit that fine military service of our own "Crowinghorse", US Marine Jess Horsely, contributed to our leaning in the direction of this material.

We will keep everyone posted, so put a few extra pennies aside for the next, hot, limited run of Brend Hatchets!

Also, check out your favorite Ontario Knife Company dealer to get one of their new bayonets! You don't need a rifle to appreciate its capability...it's the finest combat knife/bayonet combo we have EVER seen!

Sign me up! Been lookin at a Brend since the custom was sold out. NGR has been through the ringer. Need a back up.

I have been thinking about getting a Brend Hatchet for general backwoods use. Now you've got me interested in this new variation. You folks are no help. :)

Do you have any further information about likely cost or delivery dates? How do I go about getting on the list for one of these (if I can afford one)?

Thanks!

Thanks for your complement, Andy. I am glad to see ATC utilize the most modern steels being utilized to make the most modern tools available to a service member.

I am glad the Brend is being modified. I made the same modifications to my Brend prior to entering Iraq/Kuwait. (I also sharpened the hooking edge of the hatchet edge!)

Thanks again and I am glad to be posting again!

Sgt. Horse

Don't know if I will be able to afford one of these beautys after having my Lance Hawk made though...:D

Are you going to have some of these at Blade in a couple weeks? I picked up a Rogers Rangers hawk form you there last year so give me a reason to see you this year. :D

Andy,
I think if some folks like me are watching,I'd like to know if we can get some the old styles just to complete the collections......these would be really cool for our kids and grandkids to see on
'Antiques Roadshow'....LOLOLOLOL
