A special little one for me

This little knife is forged from the piece of 1/2" 1095 round bar also pictured. I went for contrast on this one. The blade bevels were brought to a nice hand-rubbed finish, but I left the forged texture in the bolster and spine. The blade length, measured from the tip to the copper accent piece is 3 1/2". The overall length is 7".

The flats were forged to give me a place to stamp my name, but a slight miscalculation on my part rendered them useless for that application. My name didn't fit in the supplied area. I ended up stamping my name on top of the bloster, which of course is round. You haven't lived until you try to do that. :D This project was an exercise in humility.

This one's mine. It's not for sale, and I don't anticipate doing any orders for them in the immediate futrue.

Terry, I really like your knife. Very unique and very functional looking. I am guessing, is the blade just over 3"?

Terry, I don't remember ever seeing a knife from you that I didn't like, this one is no exception. Looks like a great little knife, and who deserves it more than you? I'd like to know if this is your new EDC, or if you're even planning to use it?

... is the "not for sale" part:( Congrats on yet another beautiful knife Terry.

Best regards,

RogerP

When you do take orders for them put me on the list for one , with some really burled wood!!!! I like IT......

Thanks guys.

Ed,
Yes sir, the blade is 3 1/2" from tip to the copper accent piece.

Phil,
Yes, this one will be a user. Right now it's sitting by my computer, serving as a desk knife. When I get a sheath done, I'll probably wear it as an EDC.

Initially I took it to a 1500 grit finish, then gave it a slight etch to make the temper line jump out. I decided that it was too darned pretty and that I'd probably never use it like that, so I went back after the knife was complete and took back to a 600 grit hand-rubbed finish.

Looks great Terry.., really intriguing and functional design...nice job!

That is a beautiful knife, Terry.
Sometimes ya just gotta take the time and make one for yourself. I believe a knifemaker should do this every once in awhile because occasionally you just have to do something nice for yourself.

I REALLY love the overall look of this piece. Gorgeous knife.:D

All the best,
Mike U.

very nice. I can appreciate the amount of hammer time i know you have in it. Ive got some of that 1095 roundbar, havent tried to forge it out yet, but youve inspired me :D
