Called the "Southwest Mosaic Damascus" Sebenza, this is one of 12 made about 6-7 years ago. Chris commissioned Gary House (IIRC), and worked with him to produce a special southwestern-themed design in the mosaic damascus, and the design is echoed in the engraving around the mother-of-pearl inlay. This intricate patterned damascus was state of the art at the time. Some have called this the most beautiful Sebenza ever produced. Worth sharing, anyway. Enjoy!

I am feeling an urge to go spend some time alone after seeing that. What a masterpiece!

Thanks for the kind comments regarding this amazing piece. The work that went into designing and forging the tiled damascus must have been substantial. I can't even imagine the trepidation of grinding the bevels into a raw blade billet that is worth hundreds of dollars - one slip of the belt and the game is over. Needless to say I feel very fortunate to have been at the right place and time to pick this one up, directly from Chris at the Solvang Knife Show.
