My wife and I traveled to Utah Lake for a fishing trip yesterday. We stopped at Blade HQ and I went in for a look see. I had purchased my daughter's first knife here a couple years back. I wanted to check out a large and small Sebenza and compare them with Strider's SMF and SNG. I settled on a large Sebenza and asked the very helpful girl behind the counter if they had one born on May 9, 2012. They didn't have a whole shelf full of them, so I had little hope. Amazingly, they had one with that birth date! I immediately purchased it. May 9 2012 was the day our daughter took her own life. I will place a fob containing some of her ashes on the knife and this very special knife will accompany me always.

That is definitley fate... sorry to hear about your daughter. May she rest in peace and hope you enjoy the knife

I'm so sorry about your daughter. I hope your special Sebenza helps ease some of the pain. Prayers to you.

Well wishes, glad it was the right time and right place to find that special sebenza

Sorry to hear about your daughter. I am glad that you were able to find one for the date you wanted.

I too was looking for specific dated CRK awhile ago but wasnt able to find the one I needed. It was for the passing of my father on Jan 14, 2010.

I do this quite abit with gold and silver coins. I have dates like when my kids were born (1987 and 1991), my dad was born (1922), my wife was born (she wont let me post date, LOL), my birthday, etc.

Best wishes!

Very sorry to hear about your loss. My thoughts are with you. That's a very special Sebenza indeed and a wonderful idea:thumbup::)

I'm so sorry for your lose. I hope that special Sebenza brings you comfort for many years to come.

That is an awful and wonderful post all at the same time. A truly bizarre and incredible find, it really makes you wonder. Congrats on that very special knife :):thumbup

So sorry for your loss! I hope your new sebenza will always prompt fond memories of your daughter.

That is a beautiful idea and a great story of fate. I am sure this knife will bring you comfort! My thoughts are with you.

Fate indeed, (almost as if she led you there), to think that you found that knife at the same location where you bought her a knife.
Thoughts and prayers for you and your wife, may your daughter rest in peace.

Your daughter exited on her own terms, and although I have no children of my own, it was probably one of the most brutal circumstances you've had to face in your life so far.

Keep the knife in your pocket and the memory of her in your thoughts, always. That's a very special item you've come across.

Thank you all for the kind words. The Sebbie is in my pocket as I type. It will remain the focal point of my EDC rotation and be with me most, if not all days and will never be sold. Thank you.

Really sorry for your loss, but I am happy that you found a special way to celebrate your daughters life.

It's wonderful to have a physical, working symbol of someone who has departed this plane but will forever remain in your heart.
