I just picked up a Spyderco CENTOFANTE ATS-34.

Has Drop point, and has the Strange "Silver/Grey" Sintered Alloy look handle w/ Rubber insert..

New to Knives, I tried a search on this one and found only one w/ Blk Composite ..

Can anyone of you out there give me a little more info on this Knife..

Thanks,

What you have is an early C25. Here's some info from the Spyderco Story. That handle is 6061-T6 aluminum, vapor blasted for texture then anodized to create a porous oxide coating, imparting a matte finish and a very secure grip. The inlay is checkered Santoprene, a thermoplastic rubber to further enhance grip.

The later version of this knife comes with a solid G-10 handle, no insert, and a patented SecurLok button for safety. It is also available in two sizes, the C50 with a 3 5/8" blade and the C25 being roughly the same size as the one you have.

More from the Spyderco Story: The knife you have was made with two personalities: that of a refined gents knife and that of an agressive high performance cutting machine. One of Spyderco's advertisements for this model shows it being used to cut steak at a fine restaurant, the plate and the fork are sliced also! Very neat ad.

It is a Golden Colorado manufactured knife. Nice catch.

More info from the Spyderbook: It says here that SE, PE and CE were available on this model. However I've never even seen a photo of a combo edge C25. Anyone?

Available with gray anodized scales with either black or green insert, or blue anodized scales with dark blue insert. Disco'd in 1997. Replaced by the G-10 version with SecurLok.
