A Spyderco question

Back in 1997 or so, I bought a Spyderco Endura that came with a black coated blade. The black coating is more of a matte finish, not a reflective black coating. The shop that I bought it from said that this was a limited run. This particular Spyderco has never been used mostly coz Im not a full serration guy ( Oh, so why did I buy it? Good Question).
So to those who know, is this configuration rare, or are factory black coated Spydie Endura's common?
Thanks,
John.
PS, Im not asking a price, just whether or not it is uncommon.

Best bet is to ask for this to be moved to the Spyderco sub-forum.
I am a Police Model guy, and there were black coated knives from major distributors, John Jensen being the most famous; and Spyderco themselves.

Yablanowitz, thanks for the link.
It would appear that mine is a Gen I or perhaps a Gen 2. It does have the plastic clip, don't know if it is the upgraded plastic clip. But reading the link that you sent, mine is black handles, no identification of type of steel, only seki city japan, and it is a blackened full serrated edge.
It's fun to research this stuff out. My background was guns, guns, guns, and knives were the afterthought, something you saw your shooting buddies have clipped in their pockets and that was that. Steel type of your blade? What, who cares? Now umpteen years later it's THE thing to know.
