A friend of mine Pat B who is Deafsmithco on here stopped by today and was kind enough to bring some bows and guns with him.. He also brought his new Stag HB with him so we had a quick photo shoot

I shot some of his bows but really loved his Schafer Silver Tip Really shot it well and being that I just ordered one I was very pleased

Well to get on with the knife it is definately a keeper Great balance and feel and a fantstic hand position. Blade length is 11 inches

It is pictured with the fantastic Paul Long sheath that has some of my Buff hide as an inlay. Stud by my Gunsmith Lester Knipe

Great wicked package on all accounts forgive me for the glare in the photos and thanks for looking

Damn that's a long blade. Really dig these knives - they look like they mean business.

pretty much as kick ass a fighter as exists anywhere. Must be fun to get to handle one, I envy you Joe:thumbup:

I'm trying to hold out a bit longer to place an order for the stag HB i want but this doesn't make it any easier.

Very nice deafsmithco:cool:

No mistaking them, Bill's knives always scream "Bagwell".

Thanks for sharing Joe and congratulations Pat.

Beautiful HB AND bow Joe. Is that the "Schafer" in the backround? Looks beautiful...a takedown?

I've always admired the old Bear takedown recurves, and THAT is a WHOLE new ballgame than those!

Can you shoot your traditional type bows as accurately as a compound?

Peter

Peter that is Pats Silvertip and Pats Sharps not mine. As for accuracy speaking for myself I am more acurate with a compound with sights but I do not really care for them and enjot my recurves and instinctive shooting much more. I have harvested some of my best deer with recurves and if my memory serves me correctly I have only killed one deer with a compound. Just love the traditional stuff

Thanks everyone

Thanks for the comments guys. I have to thank Joe again for introducing me to those two gentlemen in Texas. The knife carries well under a flannel shirt, but I do get hung up occasionally getting in and out of the truck.

Joe wanted to try one of my Schafers so I hauled a bunch of stuff down to his place. We spent a couple of hours walking the the woods and stump shooting with blunts.

Peter, that is one of my two Schafer Silvertips. This one has a bacote riser with zebra wood up the middle and stained zebra limb veneers with elk horn limb tip overlays. The second Silvertip (not pictured) is striped ebony, both bows are three piece take downs and the specs are the same. They are 62" length and 58 pounds at 28" draw length.

It is possible that some one could shoot this set up as accurate as a compound I guess, but I have never heard of it happening. As soon as you say it can't be done some one will prove you wrong.

Since Bagwell's and Sharps seem to go together, we used my Axtell 1877 Lower sporter chambered for .45 2 1/10 (45-70) in the pictures also.

Pat B,

Congrats on an awesome Bagwell and Paul Long's equally nice sheath.

Love these Hell's Belle threads, thanks Joe and Pat !
