I go through PM2 phases. I buy one, carry it for a little while and sell it. So, last week I was back on the upswing and was Jonesing for a black/satin PM2 again. I hop on Amazon and they had a Warehouse Deal for $103. I went ahead and ordered it. Typically Warehouse Deals are open box or returns. I get it yesterday, looks good as expected except for one peculiar detail. Keep in mind I ordered a plain Jane black/satin/s30v PM2. My guess is that this one was a return and the label on the box is ripped so I can tell what the box is for.

Nice "plain jane" Pm2 you got there Hal. A mistake in your favor for sure.
 
There have been a few others that I've seen on the forums that had the same thing happen

Looks legit to me. I think someone did a scale swap but I can't figure out why they would leave the s110v blade behind. Unless it was a better blade steel than the 110v.
 
Not the first I've seen like this, but based on the backswept top jimping that is definitely a real blade. Nice win!
 
It occurred to me though that this won't carry a Spyderco warranty. Hmmmm...
 
Someone wanted those blurple scales for another PM2.
Congrats on the upgrade.
 
I have a digicam/S30V in my pocket right now. Yours matches very closely except one tiny bit of the blade grind. I will compare with my S110V when I get home.
 
The little notch at the end of the blade grind doesn't look right. None of my knives have it. I was wondering though- does this signify a factory second?

I'd guess that is an optical illusion. I just grabbed a pm2 sitting next to me on a table. At first glance first thought was, mine sure isn't notched like that. Then I held it at the same angle as the pic, and what do you know, mine looks notched too. [emoji12]

did it come with the tip up clip or did you change it around before pics ?

because that's not the factory configuration, thus you could be the "victim" ;) of a scale swap.

You can see where it was tip up and the clip was swapped.
