A suggested slight improvement to the Manix 2 XL

The Manix 2 XL is a great knife design. However, it is not perfect, especially if you have larger hands. I would suggest that removing that hook from the pommel and opening up the handle would be a good design change. If it terminated more like the Military it would still have a good look but this would allow larger hands to have their small fingers find a comfortable place.

(Oh, and one more thing is that a back lock version would be icing on the cake)

As a fan of the Manix 2 XL Platform, I would also like to see some changes happen too but knowing Spyderco that will never happen. The ergos are uncomfortable, the clip location makes the knife carry too shallow, cutting edge could be longer, and it could use some more "skeletonization".

I really like that knife, but the hook on the pommel crowds my fingers just a bit. I know I am not the only one.

I'm fortunate that the XL fits my hand pretty well, it's definitely my favorite Manix. But I can see how the OP's comments are valid to many people, that drop at the pinky end of the handle is quite pronounced compared to a standard Manix. I will say if the XL does fit the hand, it just adds to that feeling of a very secure grip you get with a Manix. However it wouldn't detract from my liking the XL a lot if it was rounded off a bit.
I do think the clip is positioned too low, due to the lanyard tube, and this is one of very few Spydercos I have a deep carry clip on because of that.

Waiting to see the XL in S110V and Maxamet...

I don't think you "know" Spyderco...
Nice try. Don't be an idiot. The Manix 2 XL Platform will never get a change. I don't think you know Spyderco well enough to realize that if they're more worried about making another failure along with making another model have a larger lanyard tube, then you already know Spyderco will not touch the Manix 2 XL.

Also to add the last time Spyderco touched the Manix 2 XL in terms of making it "different" was in 2013 for the S90V Peel Ply Carbon Fiber Sprint Run...

Seems to me that Spyderco is always tweaking things to make them better, often in response to feedback... so I don't see how the manix 2 XL is exempt from that process. Wharnie Delica, Stretch 2, Military CQI improvements, backlock Manix2, and Fishhunter jump to mind as examples of this.

I like this knife a lot, though the bigger handle makes me wonder if I'd like it more without the finger choil... blasphemy I know (usually I'm a big fan of spyderco's forward choils!).
