I’d like a suggestion for a small hone to be used to keep my D2 knife sharp!
Thanks.

If you are capable of using a stone(ie, can hold a consistent angle), I've had good luck with the little DMT folding diamond "stones". Used to keep a fine one on the keychain at all times. Don't anymore, as I no longer work job where I was using knife continuously every day, but worked great back then. Think that one's hanging off one of zippers on my pack now forr when I'm out camping and stuff.

Go to your nearest Walmart and get one of the EzeLap diamond stones. You are going to need a diamond stone to sharpen that D2 steel. I believe they are 1"x3" in size and will last forever. You will pay about $6 for this stone. A word of warning; they work better as they get more used. New, out of the package, the diamonds seem to need wearing down a little. They come in a nice little leather pouch too.

I don't know what the deal is around here with WalMart and EZ LAP but you cannot find their products on sale anymore at the WalMart stores.

Danbo, apparently you didn't notice where The Bear is from.

Oops. You're right; I didn't even notice. I thought they had Walmarts everywhere? :) Last time I checked, Ezelap stones were still everywhere, though.

Thank you for your help, and no matter where I live, I’ll look for the hones you suggest me on the web!
Bye

get a lansky cermaic dog bone hone. you can them them for a 1.99 (I believe) bulk packed from (in other words no packaging) from www.smokymountainknifeworks.com. They were ones produced to go with knives as a bonus, but not all were used. I use one myself,, they weork well (and compact!).:)
