Aside from sharing a common obsession, the one thing I enjoy the most from this site, and this subforum in particular, is the visual inspiration to get out and haul some of these tools along to use them for what they are made to do. I've spent a some time lurking around a couple other subforums but this is the one I end up at the most and I think it's for that reason. I'm certainly not a photographer but I have always liked wandering around taking pictures so here are a few from today.

It rained here this morning but the skies cleared up early enough for me and my baby girl and a few friends to head out this afternoon for a little walk down by the swamp. We got down to a spot by the lake to take a couple snapshots. It was fun but didn't last long and we ended up high-tailing it back to the truck just in time to beat a real downpour. Not a whole lot of time for exploring or photos but still a great time in the woods. I certainly didn't need all this steel but I thought I'd have some more time to get some group shots.

The freshly stripped Kabar kukri came along for the ride. The handle is okay but it would be great to have a Becker handle on this one. It's a beast around the yard hacking through limbs and branches and it's still compact and light enough to belt carry if you really wanted to. That handle just can't compare to a Becker though. If anyone has seen someone mod the handle on one of these, I'd appreciate a heads up or any advice or suggestions.

great pics...LOL I think she was wanting to use the King to open her snack bag!

From looking at the pic, the tang contours/size dont seem that different from the 9 and the kukri.....perhaps u could remove the kukris handles, drill 3 holes and install a set of becker grips? if u use micarta becker grips, u could file the metal and sand the micarta until they fit....maybe. It may not be exactly like a 9's grip when u got done, but it would be a lot closer then it is now

I have no real idea, just speculating ideas from the pic, is the Kukri full tang?

Great pics. Not sure where you are in Oregon, but you are definitely on the Western side :D

We got a little rain on the east side today, but not much. Just enough to turn everything yellow because the Pine trees are pollenating big time

Adorable little girl and it looks like great place to take her for a little hike. Thanks for taking us along.

Nothin' better than a Sunday stroll with the wee one's! Looks like a blast! Thanks for the pics.
