I went for another walk up at Prentice cooper yesterday just to get out of the house for a while. It was a good chance to just look around at things and experiment a little.

Walking through some of the open fields I found lots of wild carrots.

Found a few thistle plants too. Some of the flowers are just starting to bloom, others are in full bloom, and then others would be great tinder with a little drying in the sun.

The Mullein is coming on too.

As are the Black Berries/

By afternoon it was getting pretty warm, time to find some shade!

I found a dead dogwood tree I wanted to experiment with. I tried the new edge on the Shrike out and I'm really liking this new edge a lot! At one time I got a "pointed" reminder just how sharp John got the beard.

I learned the nano will only fit in the handle if I remove the striker...

Then I experimented a little with the ASEK. I am going to make a fire bow set. The saw on this thing works soooo much better than the older models. The flat grind means the widest point is the tips of the teeth so much less friction. Serrations also help with quick aggressive cutting.

Went for a walk around the pond. I saw cattail shoots but no cattails standing.

I'm still wondering what this is...

Found some odd looking fungi.

I like this trail mix, it actually comes in a container I can reuse and it tastes pretty good too.

I played around a little with a fatwood stump I found, definitely liking this new edge!

The last little while I just sat at the camping area at Davis pond and played around a little taking some still shots for the website. I messed around with the A-1 some and it did well in some seasoned Cherry.

I also experimented with the AH-1 a bit. This one is really handy, but it makes me look forward to the larger sizes too.

Then I got the DF out and played with it some more too. I don't think it shows up too well in these pics but with all the food prep it's been doing lately it's starting to develop a patina from all the potato, onion, and tomato juice. The original edge is still going strong.

Man, when you go out you are packing serious amounts of steel :p

How are you like the Fletcher knife? I like the looks of them quite a bit, seems like it would do a good job at the camp tasks that I like to do.

Cool stuff MW. What's that last knife? I don't remember seeing it before.

That's the Delta Foxtrot I got from Dylan Fletcher when I went to Blade. Here are a couple of threads where I put it through some paces.

Only when I'm going out for photos for the website. I never actually pack that much at one time when I'm on the walks...that's what the truck is for :)

I am loving it. I've been spending a lot of time with it in the kitchen too and I love how it handles. Dylan did a truly awesome job on this knife.

Its a Delta Foxtrot, a custom from Dylan Fletcher.

Yep, that's the one.

Great stuff as usual buddy, love that Fletcher knife !

Thanks bro, yeah I'm loving it too!!

Great pics brother! I'm glad to see that edge is still going strong. I'm hoping that the A-2 I'm about to start using performs just as well.

This edge is doing awesome bro!

I've heard some good things about A-2 with the right heat treat.

I like a2, alot of BRKT knives use it as well. If you need a tester for your a2 blades, give me a shout!
