Hi everyone,

Well, the mail-lady just swung by and dropped me my prize! I opened the box and wow, the Blur 1670SG10 from Mr. Dave! That is one solidly built knife!

Now I am no knife expert, but to date this is the most solidly built pocket-knife I have ever held. It quickly replaced my Gerber Gator aas my EDC. I had never liked the Gator that much as it seemed weak across the cross-section and the edge had a tendency to roll. Not this baby, no sir.

I didn't take a picture of the Torx Tool yet, but will. That is the handiest little knife tool I have ever seen!

Dave, I want to really thank you for this great prize (and warp speed shipment, wow I didn't expect it till next week!). Thomas, I want to thank YOU for helping Dave make the contest possible. Thanks Kershaw for making such great products. And finally thanks BF for allowing such a great company to show it wares! You guys are the greatest. From now on, whenever I buy a folder, it will be a KERSHAW!

Jeremy

From a Gator to a Blur......definite upgrade:thumbup:...enjoy, and when the bug bites and you get Kershaw fever let us know. I think we can point you in the direction of a full blown Kershaw addiction/problem. :D

Well, the bug bit pretty hard. The first Kershaw I purchased for myself should be arriving in a few days. I just had to have the Lahar! I wanted a pocket knife that was a real go-to knife when push came to shove. After months of searching I decided that the Lahar was everything I needed and more. The Lahar will be placed in reserve for when I am camping, hiking, just needing a great edge. The Blur will be my edc. I was completely unfamiliar with the SpeedSafe. First time I tried it out of the package, I was amazed. That is a folder that doesn't like to be closed. It wants to be out and working! The silver g10 is something you have to see in person to believe. It's like the hologram on my credit card. Really cool!

Have to agree with Spiral on the upgrade....are should I say
major upgrade!!! Glad to hear you're enjoying the Blur.

And I don't think we need to point you in the direction of a full
blown addiction........seems you're headed that way. ;)
BTW, there is still no cure for this addiction. :D

One question: does the SpeedSafe require any routine maintenance, and if so what should be done? (Got the Torxtool to handle any problems!)

If it starts feeling a little slower/sluggish and so on, just take her apart, clean, re-lube,
put it back together and adjust the pivot to your liking.

Thanks Svrider! I keep catching myself playing with this thing, and it just keeps getting faster and faster!

Yeah, they have a little break-in period. They just get smoother and
smoother the more you flickem. Happy flickin.

Thanks guys! After this I may be eying other models. First Kershaw I ever saw was in a hardware store where I was employed in college. We received a shipment of four of what I believe to be the Chive. We had been used to selling Schrades and the Gator (where I got mine about eight years ago, paid $9). We saw this little thing a were all stunned. From that time forward I knew sooner or later I'd have to get a Kershaw. Now I bought one to give away, bought one to keep, and won a third. Gonna have to sell my customs in order to buy another one or two to keep back, but I'm going to wait for the new steel at the end of the year.
Thanks everyone!
P.S. (The Blur gets faster? Man, it's already as fast as the www.kershaw-knives.net demo video!)

Well I see that the drug that Kershaw puts in their boxes has caught another. OK, let me answer your next four or five questions:

Cyclone
Leek
JYD II
Mini Mojito
ZT0200
Groove
Offset
and my favorite...the ENER-G!

Man, you gotta give that ENER-G a try. Amazing mechanics, and sharp as a scalpel!

Enjoy the ride!

Heh Heh, I already bought the JYDII...........only I bought it to give to my brother. Now that is what a folder is meant to be! That will more than likely be my next Kershaw when it is brought out in the 14C28N (or if I can repeat the price I paid for my brother's).

Ya know, I had an ENER-G and hated the handle. The more I think about it, it's about time for an ENER-G Ti framelock with some ZDP. That knife is so different it kinda begs for a seldom used steel.

SPXT is right about the next 5 or so Kershaws. With Kershaw there are about half a dozen must have models and they all have completely different merits with the exception of build quality. On that front they are all good. You just pick and choose the ones that really move you then specialize your collection from there. However, I would add a Bump to that list. (yah I know, big suprise)

It does sound like our newly minted Kershaw junky (gauge7) has a good plan though..... just sit back and enjoy the ride. Very wise indeed.

Take alittle advice from me...Go ahead and take a huge leap forward and set your sights on a ZT 0200...Once you have one of those in your hand, you'll "be there". However, along the way to a ZT 0200, a Cyclone and a Groove are nice choices.

Thanks Glockman.

I'll have to unload a few "Shelf (don't have a safe)Queens" before I can put that much scratch together. I do like the idea of a "root, hog, and growl" folder like the ZT-0200. It's just I'm sitting on a couple that were made for "pretty" and not for use. Once I get rid of those turkeys I'll do it!
