I picked up a couple knives at the flea market over the weekend. Got the 2 traditionals for a whopping $5 and another $5 for the Kershaw Ember. The Colonial had one loose scale, one missing scale, rust, and a chipped tip. I figured for the couple bucks I'd see what I could do.
So I removed the loose scale, cleaned up a bunch of corrosion mostly from the inside, and forged a new grippy set of scales from a scrap of anti-static mat. A co-worker said it now looks like a Converse All-Star shoe. I also ground the end of the blade somewhere between a sheepsfoot and a drop-point. What do you all think? It's excellent carbon steel, made in the USA!!! I love it!
