Today I was bowled over to receive a package from Duane (Sitflyer). As well as a lovely handwritten letter and some interesting coins, it contained this incredible small fixed-blade, which the great man had made himself from an old and lovingly used RH Forschner Victorinox Chef’s Knife. Taking the knife, which had helped to create many thousands of meals, Duane slowly and carefully ground it to shape, and then added pinned slabs of osage orange wood. These photos, taken on my kitchen table this evening, really don’t do this beautiful knife justice. With the blade is a well-designed and carefully made pocket sheath, which holds the knife very securely. What an absolute joy to be sent something that a friend has made with their own hands. Duane, I am extremely grateful.

As if this beauty was not enough, Duane also included an old discontinued Buck knife in 440C, which is a great size for EDC, and a wee Italian-made gent’s knife with a single blade and file. I’m absolutely bowled over by your thoughtfulness and kindness Duane, and will always think of you when I carry these knives. Many thanks my friend.

My apologies folks, for the poor quality of the pics, but you’ll certainly be seeing more of these knives in the weeks, months, and years to come.

Please also accept my apologies for having to post this a sentence or two at a time. I don’t know what the problem was, but I wasn’t able to post. I spent 5 hours trying to post it last night and a good while this morning, as per the original text:[Sorry this is an incomplete post, I'm having difficulties posting - See http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/1060245 - Will try to get it finished ASAP]
