A Surprise Knife

I was on my morning walk this morning and I began to jones for a new knife. I'm sure you all know the feeling. OK, I got a little Mike Zima fixed blade on Tuesday but within minutes of opening the box I put it in another box and send it off to Paul Long for one of his sheaths so that one don't count. I still had the knife jones so I looked around at some internet dealers for a while, then thought about a trip into town to check out the local brick and mortar knife shop. About this time the lovely Darlene in her mail jeep pulled up to the mail box out front and left me a package.

One of the regulars (you know who you) around here had sent me this Winchester. I had no idea it was coming. It was simply an act of kindness and friendship. A non-knife person probably would not understand why it means so much to me. We all know though, don't we? These are the kind of folks that hang out in this forum. As you can see it is a really a nice knife to begin with but now it seems to be a little special.

(Looking over this post, it may seem a bit sappy. I started to add some profanity to give more of an edge but did not want to irk Blues and Gus.)

Congrats. Couldn't happen to a nicer guy. At least the knife fairy didn't leave it under your pillow.

Good Stuff Rob !

 I like Sowbellies! Enjoy that one in good health, Rob. As previously stated by one of our bladebrothers, it couldn't have gone to a nicer guy.

Just in case anyone is wondering,
I like knives and surprises too.
My bday is Nov 28 and my favorite color is blue. :D

Seriously...that was a very folksyfriendly thing to do. Kudos to both parties.

Great knife and even better for how it came to you!

Yep, some of my favorite knives are ones that a forum member added to package, or at times just sent on its own. Things like that just touch ya. That's the kind of folks who hang out here.

You deserve it Rob! When I first joined this forum, and couldn't post a pic to save my butt, you posted some for me, and patiently helped me learn the ropes. Seems like a long time ago!
Congrats on getting some kindness back at ya!

Sappy?? I don't think so. Maybe a little goofy, but a damn manly post by gosh. (how's that for edge?) :)

Looks like the blade steel has a little blue tint to it. ;)

Gee gosh, Amos! Sappy, AND Folksy!!:o
Same to you, Buddy!:D
