A Survival Tale Close To Me !

Ouch! Any survival situation becomes much more critical when injured. He is very lucky he didn't die just from shock. From what doctors say a broken hip/pelvis is one of the most excruciating injuries one can experience.

Climbing without a partner. Leads to disaster.

That's just nuts !! Plus he'll probably do it again once he's healed up.. It's reminds me of what my uncle told me as a teenager.. "A hard head, makes a soft or sore ass, sooner or later..."

I guess his isn't sore or soft enough yet...:D

I hope next time he is better prepared. He did well this time but I would not press my luck.

dude has the survival attitude, that's for sure.

Yes, he went outside, alone, and did stuff. we all know that's ridiculously stupid. Doing stuff is baaaaaad. How many times have you gone for a walk or a light dayhike, or just wandered around the local creekside or whatever without telling someone exactly what route you were taking and and pace you were setting and removing all spontaneity from your life?

Accidents can happen anywhere, anytime. This wasn't a lack of preparation for the EVENt, though possibly he wasn't prepared for a general class of emergencies. Hell, I'm not prepared for the banks of putah creek to collapse and impale my thigh on a broken branch. I do try to stay prepared for something- basic first aid and water.....

That is my point exactly. I hope he will think to have things like water and perhaps some way of signaling or maybe a cell phone at the very least.

dudes got survival at any cost genes. Crawling with a broken hip strikes me as fricking painful

The image of him crawling a little bit and then passing out, only to repeat once he woke up is nuts. Broken foot and pelvis which was broken in three spots, plus scrapes/bruises is crazy too.

Need to get him a telephoto lens to keep him off those ledges lol.
