A Tactical Hobo Set?

Just as a feasibility study, but how many nuts would be in the market for a "Tactical Hobo Set"?

By tactical I simply mean a modern materials knife/fork folder combo, for instance, let's say a reasonably versatile blade style, folding knife in 440C or better stainless ( I would think stainless for eating utensils) and a folding detatchable fork, G10 or micarta handles, etc. Makes for a pretty irrefutable EDC explanation, as it essentially answers the "What's that for?" question sheeple and LEOs love to ask.

I would like to disclaim that this was not drug induced. I was eating my lunch today with a plastic fork, and my Benchmade TSEK. The fork broke. And I began wondering...

So, am I off my rocker (I did lose some blood recently ;)), or would anybody else kill for a Benchmade Hobo Set? (Benchmade AFCHSD2?)

( hoping this is a good discussion )

Blade shapes and material suggestions welcome :)

Regards,

Shaun.

Hmmm nice idea, I'd go for a blade style with some belly and fully serated (easier for eating steak) perhaps something like a spydey millitary-ish thing

"kill for a Benchmade Hobo Set? (Benchmade AFCHSD2?)"

AFCHSD2..= Advanced Folding Camping Hobo Specialized, in D2 steel????!
Or Advanced Folding Combat Hobo.

I'm seeing a tough four inch bladed tanto with a clip off tactical Spork attachment.

Hmmmm. well I'd definitely take a look at it.

¿A Chris Reeve Hobo?.

Precisely machined titanium fork and spoon which separate from the knife with such a smooooooth feel, easy disassemble for cleaning, plain or decorated, maybe with exotic wood inlays...

¿What´s the Zulu word for Hobo?.

Only if it had the Axis lock!;)
How about a AFEK (Advanced Folding Eating Kit)?

I'd buy one but I don't think I'd want to spend more than $60-90 for one. Besides, it would have to replace my SAK which does more.

How about a Multi-tool with a fork and a spoon on a belt sheath that still had some other tools in it?

BTW, did you know that the Hobo knives are really big with drug users?

Advanced Folding Combat Hobo Set in D2

I see no problem with using titanium for the spork/fork portion (say that 3 times fast), and there was a time in my infancy that I considered the titanium spork for my EDC rotation...;) however, the Kabar hobo sets, and even the Case sets lack a certain aspect, and stag handles just aren't for everybody. Hear my cries Benchmade!

Damn.

Though last night, my sister's friend asked why I carried such a large knife. I looked at my mini-Griptilian and shuddered. Big knife? So anything over 2 inches is a big knife for the sheeple? And a LEO is going to think I'm a drug user because I carry a Hobo kit.

Great. Time to pickup those folding chop sticks now.

Anyone make "tactical" chop sticks...

Shaun.

[edited because I can't spell 'anyone'...]

Just don't cook your heroin in the spoon and you should be OK.;)

I now want a speed safe fork with a flipper! Talonite or stellite, please.

Well I suppose those could be considiered as Yawara (sp?) sticks :D

I'd deffinetly be up for a decent hobo kit, but personally I'd like it as low profile as possible :)

BTW, Does anyone actually make a decent spork :D (I'm quite serious).

You know, I think the idea really isn't that far fetched. I've come close a few times to getting one of the Case Hobo sets, just so I can pull it out whenever the chow hall is out of silverware (again). It would be nice on field exercises too, I've never really liked using plastic forks and knives, they're just too flimsy.

Mindz_I, just cut some teeth into the end of a good spoon, and voila!

Hehe Aye I suppose so.

A British company called BCB / "Brown's Cough bottle" oddly enough used to have a great product called a K-Fork.

It was a decent sized Spork with a can opener and bottle opener built into the handle. Light as you like and all you needed along with a decent knife.

Haven't been able to find one anywhere though.

I think one of those hobo forks has my interest also.

Yes. Built from titanium rods, they can be made with a point for the more tactical-minded, or with a blunt tip, probably more practical in that you can actually eat with them. Toxic Sushi Stix.

1. Titan Sushi Stix - The new Toxic Sushi Stix are titanium, .250 diameter and 9" long.
These are SHARPENED (intended for defensive purposes)
